Wanna talk Gaelic Football
This was an exciting week in the world of Gaelic Football. St. Brigid's of Roscommon beat Nemo Rangers in the Club Championship. Crossmaglen overcame and early 6 point deficit to progress to the final over Kilmacud Crokes in a game which is best described as Gaelic Foot-brawl. Galway's hideous decline continued as they put in a shocking second-half effort against Mayo. Bernard Brogan and Dublin staked their claim as a Championship contender with a single-point victory over Kerry. Also, the Sigerson Cup will be decided in a 3-Day marathon at UCD in Belfield. Galway Continues to Sing the Blues

The long, difficult road to recovery just got worse for Galway. Reports today confirm that two experienced Galway players, Kieran Fitzgerald and Niall Coleman, have withdrawn from the panel. Fitzgerald's retirement is particularly alarming because he was named one of three captains a month ago.

The Galway ship is sinking. Michael Meehan has a severe knee injury. Key players are walking away. New manager Tomas O'Flatharta is in big trouble. Any Galway supporter has to be wondering how much water the ship can take before it capsizes.

Alright, alright, so I haven't posted since November. Thanks for all your emails wondering if I had emigrated or if I was alive. Much like the controversy regarding exactly what is a legal tackle, I am alive and well. I've been busy with a new job, moving house and fighting with Aer Lingus for a refund of a Christmas flight that never left the airport.

Nonetheless I've been keeping a loose eye on things in the world of Gaelic Football. I'm going to try an post a few talking points every Sunday from now until the All-Ireland Final. I'm going to call it 'Overheard in the Snug'. Here in no particular order are my topics for the week.
