Kildare Finishes Strong; Other Matches Not Shown

'Let's play all the matches at once!'
Kildare 2-11
Meath 0-14
Due to the genius decision to schedule all the qualifiers at 7pm we were only able to watch the Kildare v Meath match. The radio was our only option for the other matches. RTE's online player didn't carry any extra games. Nice work all around boys!

There really weren't any surprises as Kildare, Armagh, Down and Limerick advanced. The Kildare performance left plenty of questions.

Kildare and Meath were even with 7 minutes remaining. Meath had levelled the score but was unable to take the lead despite multiple chances. Then Kildare showed another gear and a calmness in the moment that Meath couldn't match. James Kavanagh coolly delivered the ball for an easy score. Johnny Doyle and Emmett Bolton were equally smooth in the closing moments as Kildare ran off 1-2 to effectively end the match.

Meath will be stunned as they seemed to be gaining momentum. Kildare join the final 12 of the summer. I don't think Kildare are at the same level as Kerry and Cork but I don't envy whoever meets them in the coming weeks.
